Wesleyan College awarded Over $1 Million for S-STEM Grant

New REACH STEM Scholars Program will begin immediately.

Wesleyan College has been awarded the $1,018,320 S-STEM Grant by the National Science

Foundation (NSF). This grant will provide 21 talented science students with full scholarships

over the next four years.

The REACH STEM Scholars Program will provide scholars with college transition assistance,

opportunities for career networking, and a dedicated faculty mentor throughout the program. Students may also receive additional funding for travel and research, career exploration, and graduate school.

“Now more than ever it’s incredibly important that we have strong women leaders entering STEM fields. Wesleyan College has a long history of accelerating equality for women. These scholarship funds will ensure that women’s voices get a seat at the table in science and math fields.”

- Meaghan Blight, Wesleyan College President

The program begins immediately with six students eligible for scholarships this Fall. Eligible

students will be those seeking a Wesleyan degree in biology, applied mathematical science, or neuroscience, who have demonstrated academic achievement and financial need.

Wesleyan students choose to study here because they want to test their limits. The bar is set high because our students demand it. First for Women isn’t just a claim to fame - it’s a philosophy that explains why Wesleyan women continue to make history today.  Read More
