Wesleyan College extends congratulations to Director of Strategic Initiatives Ken Blair and to alumna Joi Raushan ’18 for being honored at the 7th annual MaconIt Success Ceremony which celebrates the success and contributions of young adults from Macon, Georgia, and those who are committed to the development of our city through awards and scholarship. At the event, held on Saturday, July 31, 2022, Blair received the MaconIt 2022 award and Raushan earned the Young Educator of the Year award. MaconIt is a nonprofit organization that works to provide social and financial support services for college students from Macon.
Born and raised in Macon, Joi Raushan graduated from Mount de Sales Academy in 2014 and earned her degree in early childhood education from Wesleyan College in 2018. Today she teaches third-grade science and social studies at Skyview Elementary School, is enrolled in Wesleyan's master of education program, and owns a customized gift business, JoifulByJoi.
Having joined the Wesleyan staff in 2020 as director of the First Year Experience, Blair was recently promoted to the newly created position of director of strategic initiatives. He began his career at Mercer University in 2014 after earning his bachelor of applied science degree in organizational leadership at Mercer and his master's in business administration degree from Brenau University. He is currently pursuing his doctoral degree in higher education administration and educational leadership.
