On February 12, 2026, we came together to honor a life, a legacy, and a future full of promise.

Wesleyan College proudly dedicated the Harold Searcy Brown Classroom, a newly renovated space designed to support Wesleyan’s expanding business program. This state-of-the-art classroom was made possible through a transformational $6 million gift from Sylvia Maxwell Brown, Mary Beth Brown and Dennis Swearingen, and Stanford Brown.

This historic gift, the largest one-time donation to the SHE WILL Campaign, was made in honor of the late Harold Searcy “Buddy” Brown, a respected Georgia businessman and civic leader remembered for his integrity, work ethic, and generosity.

With modern technology, updated furnishings, and enhanced accessibility, the Harold Searcy Brown Classroom is more than a lecture room; it’s a collaborative learning space where future leaders will grow and thrive!
