Dear Alumnae and Friends,
I hope this letter finds you and your families safe and healthy. In the midst of these extraordinary circumstances, the safety and well-being of our college community remains our top priority, which includes our alumnae and friends from around the globe. I pray you are doing well.
The current crisis presents daily challenges to all of us as we rely on our resiliency and determination. During this time, Wesleyan students, faculty and staff have exemplified remarkable fortitude and grace. Additionally, we are working daily to make sound administrative decisions to complete the spring semester and plan for fall. Yet no matter how circumstances may continue to change in the coming weeks and months, our values remain steadfast and guide us as we prepare for a new reality.
This past weekend we planned to welcome hundreds of Wesleyan alumnae to campus for Alumnae Weekend and initiate the senior class into the oldest alumnae association in the world. Of course, we are disappointed that this joyful weekend was postponed. However, we are planning some virtual celebrations in the upcoming weeks. In fact, our virtual campus community will celebrate Honor and Awards Day on Wednesday. While we will not be together physically, we will nonetheless commend the amazing accomplishments of our wonderful Wesleyannes.
In recent weeks, I have been touched to receive expressions of concern and support for Wesleyan and her students, along with much needed financial support. Thank you for your prayers, your helpful suggestions, and your continued generosity. We are truly grateful to you and hope we can be together soon.
Sincerely,
Vivia L. Fowler
President
