Visit Macon & Wesleyan College Present the Macon Bloom Cam for the Cherry Blossom Festival

Visit Macon and Wesleyan College have teamed up to bring live cherry blossom bloom webcam views to people all around the world. Wesleyan’s front campus is home to 422 trees, 63 of which are cherry trees! The College is honored to host several Cherry Blossom Festival events on campus every year, this year we are particularly excited to host Visit Macon’s Bloom Cam that was set up to record the bloom cycle of the cherry trees in Fickling Grove, located behind Candler Alumnae Center. Students and members of the community can wave to friends and family as they enjoy seeing Wesleyan's cherry trees bloom in real time!

“Visit Macon is thrilled to partner with Wesleyan College with a Blossom Cam for the Cherry Blossom Festival featuring the beauty of this amazing season in Macon. Having a live webcam view enhances the experience of the cherry blossom bloom as well as invites viewers from around the world to Macon as we welcome spring” stated Gary Wheat, president & CEO of Visit Macon.

Fickling Cherry Grove was designed by Macon native, architect, and Wesleyan alumna Ellamae Ellis League, Class of 1920. Ellamae was the first woman elected a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects in Georgia and only the eighth woman nationwide, the fourth woman registered as an architect in Georgia, served as the first president of the Georgia Council of Architects, and was known as "one of Georgia and the South's most prominent female architects." Several buildings she designed (including her own home) are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. She practiced for more than 50 years, 41 of them with her own firm.

About Wesleyan College

Wesleyan draws a wonderfully eclectic mix of women – about 700 in all – from across the United States and more than twenty countries, bringing to campus a multitude of backgrounds and ethnicities. Wesleyan students choose to study here because they want to test their limits. The bar is set high because our students demand it. First for Women isn’t just a claim to fame - it’s a philosophy that explains why Wesleyan women continue to make history today.  Read More
