Wesleyan Announces Judge Verda Colvin as 2018 Commencement Speaker


Verda M. Colvin is a Superior Court Judge in the Macon Judicial Circuit which serves Macon-Bibb, Crawford and Peach Counties. She presides over the Mental Health Court for the Circuit, Family Violence Court, and the Family Treatment Court, 1/3 of the Civil docket, conflicted Domestic cases and the Narcotic cases for Macon-Bibb County. She was appointed by Governor Nathan Deal on April 16, 2014. She received her B.A. degree from Sweet Briar College in Virginia and her J.D. from the University of Georgia School Of Law. She practiced in a law firm and was a prosecutor on the state and federal level for 22 years.
